Spadix

A spadix is a dense, often fleshy spike bearing small flowers, commonly enclosed or partly surrounded by a specialized bract called a spathe.

Inflorescence: An inflorescence is the arrangement of flowers on a plant axis. A spadix is one specialized kind of inflorescence.
Anthurium: Anthurium is a genus of tropical plants with prominent flower spikes and colorful spathes. Its conspicuous spadix-and-spathe display is a widely recognized example.
