Stefan Banach

Stefan Banach (1892–1945) was a Polish mathematician who helped establish functional analysis and founded the Lwów School of Mathematics.

Hugo Steinhaus: A Polish mathematician whose work spanned functional analysis, probability, and game theory. Steinhaus recognized Banach’s talent and became his collaborator and mentor.
