Stegodon

Stegodon is an extinct genus of proboscideans whose elephant-like species lived in Asia and parts of Africa from the Miocene into the Pleistocene.

Proboscidea: The mammalian order comprising elephants and their extinct relatives, including mammoths and mastodons. Stegodon belongs to this broader order of trunked mammals.
