Stephen E. Ambrose

Stephen E. Ambrose (1936–2002) was an American historian and biographer whose popular books focused on U.S. presidents and World War II, including Band of Brothers and D-Day.

Band of Brothers: A 1992 book by Stephen E. Ambrose about Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in World War II. This account of Easy Company became Ambrose’s best-known work and inspired a television miniseries.
Louisiana State University: A public research university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Stephen E. Ambrose earned his doctorate in history. Ambrose’s doctoral training there preceded his career as a historian and biographer.
