Stolon

A stolon is a horizontal plant stem that can produce roots and shoots at its nodes, allowing a plant to spread and form new individuals.

Plant stem: A plant axis that bears leaves and buds and transports water, minerals, and sugars. A stolon is a specialized stem with horizontal growth.
Strawberry: A flowering plant in the genus Fragaria, cultivated for its edible fruit. Strawberries send out conspicuous stolons that root at their nodes.
Rhizome: A horizontal plant stem that grows at or below the soil surface and can form roots and shoots. Rhizomes are usually underground, whereas stolons typically grow along the surface.
