Stonewall Jackson

Stonewall Jackson was a Confederate general in the American Civil War, known for rapid campaigns in the Shenandoah Valley and his role at Chancellorsville.

Valley Campaign: A series of Confederate operations in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley from March to June 1862. Jackson’s victories against divided Union forces made this campaign his signature achievement.
Interior lines: A military position that lets a force move between separated enemy forces along shorter routes. Jackson used Virginia’s roads to concentrate against Union columns before they could unite.
Robert E. Lee: A Confederate general who commanded the Army of Northern Virginia during much of the American Civil War. Lee trusted Jackson with independent commands and used his corps as a striking force.
