Street hockey

Street hockey is a form of hockey played on streets or other paved surfaces, usually on foot and with a ball or non-ice puck.

Ball hockey: A form of hockey played on foot with a ball, commonly on a hard surface. Its ball and surface make it a common organized version of street hockey.
Ice hockey: A team sport in which players on skates use sticks to direct a puck into the opposing goal on ice. It is street hockey's closest familiar counterpart, but uses ice, skates, and a puck.
National Hockey League Street: A branded street-hockey program associated with the National Hockey League. It provides an organized route for introducing children to street hockey.
Pickup game: An informal sports match formed spontaneously or with minimal organization. Many street-hockey games begin with whoever is available and a makeshift goal.
Roller hockey: A form of hockey played on roller skates or inline skates, usually with a ball or puck. It adapts street-style play by adding wheels and skating movement.
Field hockey: A team sport played on a field with curved sticks and a hard ball. It shares stick-and-ball play while using a field and distinct rules.
USA Hockey: The national governing body for ice hockey in the United States, which also supports other hockey programs. Its programs and resources help structure youth street-hockey play.
Play street: A street temporarily closed to traffic so people can use it for recreation and community activity. Play streets create safe public space for games such as street hockey.
Hockey stick: A long-handled implement with a curved blade used to control and strike a hockey ball or puck. Its blade shape and durability suit play on pavement.
Floorball: An indoor team sport played on foot with lightweight sticks and a perforated plastic ball. Its indoor court and purpose-built equipment distinguish it from pavement games.
