Sufi whirling

Sufi whirling is a devotional practice in which participants rotate as a form of remembrance and spiritual attention. It is especially associated with the Mevlevi order and its samāʿ ceremony.

Mevlevi Sema Ceremony: A Mevlevi ritual ceremony combining music, recitation, and a sequence of whirling movements. This ceremony gives the best-known form of Sufi whirling its ritual structure.
