Sun Myung Moon

Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012) was a Korean religious leader who founded the Unification Church and built the broader Unification movement.

Unification Church: A religious organization founded by Sun Myung Moon in South Korea in 1954. Moon established this church as the movement’s central religious institution.
Blessing ceremony: A Unification movement marriage rite in which couples receive a religious blessing associated with salvation and family life. Moon made mass Blessing ceremonies a defining practice of his leadership.
Hak Ja Han: A Korean religious leader who married Sun Myung Moon and became a leading figure in the Unification movement. Moon and Han jointly performed the Blessing ceremonies that defined the movement’s public identity.
