Surdas

Surdas was a 16th-century North Indian poet and singer celebrated for devotional verses about Krishna in Braj Bhasha. His life is partly legendary, and his poetry is traditionally associated with the bhakti movement.

Braj Bhasha: A Western Hindi literary language historically spoken around the Mathura region. Surdas’s Krishna poems are chiefly associated with this language.
Sursagar: A Braj Bhasha poetry collection attributed to Surdas, centered largely on Krishna’s life and devotion. It is the principal work associated with Surdas, though its surviving text has a complex history.
