Swiss franc

The official currency of Switzerland and Liechtenstein, divided into 100 centimes in French or rappen in German. It is issued by the Swiss National Bank.

Swiss National Bank: Switzerland’s central bank, responsible for monetary policy and issuing Swiss banknotes. It issues the franc and steers its value through monetary policy.
Swiss franc introduction: The adoption of the Swiss franc as Switzerland’s national currency in 1850. It marks the currency’s creation after Switzerland formed a federal state.
