Systemic functional linguistics

Systemic functional linguistics is a theory of language that explains how grammatical choices create meaning in social contexts. It models language as networks of options shaped by communicative purposes.

Systemic functional grammar: A grammatical framework that describes language through systems of choices and their functions in context. It is the grammatical model most closely associated with the theory.
