Tainan

Tainan is a city in southwestern Taiwan and the island’s oldest urban center. It served as Taiwan’s political capital under Dutch, Zheng, and Qing rule.

Dutch Formosa: The Dutch East India Company’s colonial rule over parts of Taiwan from 1624 to 1662. The Dutch established Fort Zeelandia and made the area around present-day Tainan their base.
Anping: A historic district of Tainan on the coast, associated with Dutch colonial settlement and maritime trade. Anping preserves the sites of the Dutch settlement and its later transformations.
