Tanana River

The Tanana River is a major tributary of the Yukon River, flowing west across Alaska from the Alaska Range to its confluence near the community of Tanana.

Yukon River: The Yukon River is a major river that flows through northwestern Canada and Alaska to the Bering Sea. The Tanana drains into the Yukon, joining it near the community of Tanana.
Braided river: A braided river divides into shifting channels separated by sediment bars. Heavy sediment loads and variable flow produce braided reaches along the Tanana.

Suspended load: Suspended load is fine sediment carried within flowing water rather than along the bed. Glacial flour gives the Tanana much of its characteristic silty appearance.
