Television in the United States

Television in the United States is the system of broadcast, cable, satellite, and streaming services that produce and distribute programming to U.S. audiences.

Broadcast television: Television programming transmitted over the air by radio waves for reception within a coverage area. Local stations use over-the-air signals to serve viewers without a cable or satellite subscription.
Digital television: Television transmission and reception using digitally encoded audiovisual signals. Digital broadcasting expanded channel capacity and replaced analog over-the-air transmission.
