Tengrism

Tengrism is a traditional Central Asian belief system centered on Tengri, the sky deity, and encompassing reverence for nature, ancestor veneration, and shamanic practices.

Tengri: Tengri is the supreme sky deity in ancient Turkic and Mongolic religious traditions. The sky deity gives Tengrism its name and anchors its account of cosmic authority.
Göktürks: The Göktürks were a Turkic people who founded a powerful steppe empire in the sixth century. Their inscriptions offer some of the clearest early evidence for Tengri-centered royal ideology.
Divine right of kings: Divine right of kings is the claim that a ruler's authority is granted by a divine power. Tengri's favor could legitimize a ruler's right to govern.
