Tenth Dynasty of Egypt

The Tenth Dynasty was a line of rulers based at Herakleopolis during Egypt’s First Intermediate Period, when competing dynasties divided political control.

First Intermediate Period: A period of political fragmentation between Egypt’s Old and Middle Kingdoms, conventionally dated around 2181–2055 BCE. The dynasty ruled within this era of competing regional powers.
Kheti III: A ruler associated with the Tenth Dynasty in later king lists and historical reconstructions. He is among the rulers assigned to the dynasty, though its king sequence remains uncertain.
Herakleopolitan dynasty: The group of rulers based at Herakleopolis, generally comprising Egypt’s Ninth and Tenth Dynasties. The Tenth Dynasty formed part of this broader regional ruling house.
