The Joker

The Joker is a fictional criminal and recurring adversary of Batman, characterized by his clown-like appearance, theatrical crimes, and shifting portrayals as an agent of chaos.

The Killing Joke: A 1988 Batman comic by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland that presents an influential origin story for the Joker. Its attempt to explain the Joker’s past became one of his most influential, contested portrayals.
Joker toxin: A fictional chemical weapon that kills victims with a grotesque grin and is associated with the Joker. It turns his clown imagery into a signature weapon and leaves victims visibly marked.
