Third Mithridatic War

A war fought from 73 to 63 BCE between the Roman Republic and Mithridates VI of Pontus. It ended with the conquest of Pontus and the defeat of Mithridates’ allies.

Battle of Cabira: A Roman victory in 72 BCE in which Lucullus defeated Mithridates VI near Cabira in Pontus. Its defeat forced Mithridates to flee Pontus and shifted the war toward Armenia.
Mithridates VI Eupator: King of Pontus from about 120 to 63 BCE, known for resisting Roman expansion in the eastern Mediterranean. His survival and renewed resistance kept Rome campaigning for more than a decade.
