Thorvald Stauning

Thorvald Stauning was a Danish Social Democratic politician who served as prime minister from 1924 to 1926 and from 1929 to 1942. He led Denmark through the German occupation that began in 1940.

P. Munch: A Danish Radical Liberal politician who served as foreign minister from 1929 to 1940. As Stauning’s foreign minister, Munch helped shape Denmark’s policy toward the approaching European war.
