Tim Berners-Lee

Tim Berners-Lee is a British computer scientist who invented the World Wide Web and developed its foundational technologies, including HTML, HTTP, and the first web browser.

World Wide Web: A system of interlinked documents and resources accessed over the Internet through web browsers. Berners-Lee proposed and built this system at CERN.
Hypertext: Text organized with links that allow movement between documents or sections. Berners-Lee used hypertext as the organizing idea behind the web.
World Wide Web Consortium: An international organization that develops standards for the World Wide Web. Berners-Lee founded the W3C to coordinate web standards.
Solid (web decentralization project): A project led by Tim Berners-Lee to give people greater control over their online data. Solid extends Berners-Lee’s work toward decentralized data storage and user control.
CERN: A European research organization near Geneva that operates the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. Its need to share information among researchers prompted Berners-Lee’s web proposal.
