Tocantins River

The Tocantins is a major river in central and northern Brazil that flows north to meet the Pará River near the Amazon estuary.

Araguaia River: A major river in central Brazil that joins the Tocantins River at the Ilha do Bananal region. Its large tributary basin contributes substantial flow to the Tocantins.
Tucuruí Hydroelectric Power Plant: A large hydroelectric generating station supplied by the Tucuruí Dam on the Tocantins River. It converts the river’s regulated flow into electricity.
