Toho

Toho is a Japanese entertainment company that produces and distributes films, operates cinemas and theaters, and is best known internationally for the Godzilla series.

Godzilla: A Japanese monster film franchise launched by Toho in 1954. The franchise is Toho’s most internationally recognized creation and a central part of its film business.
Ichizō Kobayashi: A Japanese industrialist and politician who founded the Hankyu railway and entertainment group. His business group established Toho as part of a broader railway and leisure enterprise.
Ishirō Honda: A Japanese film director best known for directing the original Godzilla film. His direction established the series’ blend of spectacle and postwar anxiety.

Toho Cinemas: A Japanese cinema chain operated by Toho. The chain extends Toho’s business from making films to exhibiting them.
Takarazuka Revue: A Japanese all-female musical theater troupe founded in 1913. Its popularity formed part of the entertainment network behind Toho’s early theatrical operations.
