Knowra Tommaso Campanella Tommaso Campanella Tommaso Campanella (1568–1639) was an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, poet, and political writer. His works include the utopian dialogue The City of the Sun , written during decades of imprisonment.
Renaissance naturalism : A Renaissance approach that explained nature through its own powers and principles rather than solely through inherited authorities. Campanella made nature an active source of knowledge and resisted Aristotelian accounts he considered mistaken.
