Touring car racing

Touring car racing is closed-circuit automobile competition using modified cars based on production models. Series regulations aim to keep performance close, and races are known for frequent close-contact battles.

Homologation: The formal approval of a vehicle or component for use under a competition's technical regulations. Production-based cars must meet series approval rules before they can race.
British Touring Car Championship: A British national touring car series established in 1958 and known for multi-race weekends. The BTCC is a long-running example of touring car racing's national championship form.

Group A: An FIA touring car and rally car regulation category introduced in 1982, based on production vehicles. Group A became a major framework for international touring car competition.
24 Hours of Spa: An annual 24-hour endurance race held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Its history includes touring car editions before it became a major GT endurance event.
