Tracking shot

A continuous moving-camera shot in which the camera travels alongside, toward, or away from a subject, often on a dolly or track.

Dolly: A wheeled camera platform used to move a camera smoothly during filming. A dolly carries the camera through many tracking shots.
Opening shot: A film's first shot, which establishes its initial visual and narrative frame. A moving opening can introduce a setting while drawing into its action.
Crane shot: A shot made by moving a camera vertically or through space on a crane. Crane movement often changes height, while tracking commonly travels along a ground-level path.
