Treaty of Paris (1763)
The peace treaty that ended the Seven Years’ War in 1763 and transferred major French territories in North America and elsewhere to Britain.
Royal Proclamation of 1763: A British proclamation that organized lands acquired in North America after the Seven Years’ War and restricted colonial settlement west of the Appalachians. Britain’s attempt to manage newly acquired territory intensified conflict with colonists and Indigenous nations.
