Treaty of Roskilde

The 1658 peace treaty that ended the Dano-Swedish War of 1657–1658 and forced Denmark to cede extensive territory to Sweden.

Second Northern War: A series of conflicts around the Baltic Sea from 1655 to 1660, involving Sweden, Poland-Lithuania, Denmark, and other powers. The treaty was one settlement within this wider struggle for dominance around the Baltic.
Scania: A historical province in southern Scandinavia, transferred from Denmark to Sweden under the Treaty of Roskilde. Its cession was among the treaty’s most consequential territorial changes.
