Triple Gold Club

The Triple Gold Club is an informal group of hockey players who have won the Stanley Cup, Olympic gold, and a gold medal at the Ice Hockey World Championship.

Peter Forsberg: A Swedish ice hockey forward who won two Olympic gold medals, two world championships, and two Stanley Cups. He became the first member of the club in 1994.
Stanley Cup: The championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League playoff winner. Winning it supplies the club’s professional-league requirement.
Triple Gold Club (ice hockey): An informal recognition of hockey players who win the Stanley Cup, Olympic gold, and world championship gold. The label became widely established after the first players completed all three achievements.
International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame: A hall of fame recognizing people who have contributed significantly to international ice hockey. Several members’ international achievements also brought recognition from the sport’s governing body.
Igor Larionov: A Soviet and Russian ice hockey center who won Olympic and world titles before winning three Stanley Cups with Detroit. His career joined Soviet-era international success with NHL championships.
Ice Hockey World Championships: An annual international ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation. A gold medal at this tournament supplies the club’s world-title requirement.
1994 Winter Olympics: The Winter Olympic Games held in Lillehammer, Norway, from February 12 to 27, 1994. Sweden’s victory helped Peter Forsberg become the club’s first member.
Hockey Hall of Fame: A museum and hall of fame in Toronto recognizing achievements in ice hockey. Many club members also have careers honored in hockey’s leading hall of fame.
Václav Nedomanský: A Czech ice hockey forward who won the world championship with Czechoslovakia and later played in the NHL. He was inducted in 2024 after a career across Czechoslovak and North American hockey.
Ice hockey at the Olympic Games: The international ice hockey tournament contested at the Winter Olympic Games. Olympic gold is the club’s second international championship requirement.
