Trygve Lie

Trygve Lie was a Norwegian politician and diplomat who served as the United Nations’ first secretary-general, from 1946 to 1952.

Dag Hammarskjöld: Dag Hammarskjöld was a Swedish diplomat who served as the United Nations’ second secretary-general from 1953 until his death in 1961. He succeeded Lie and expanded the secretary-general’s independent diplomatic role.
