Tudor period

The era of English history from 1485 to 1603, when the Tudor dynasty ruled England. It encompassed the Reformation, the growth of royal power, and England’s emergence as a major maritime state.

Tudor dynasty: The royal house that ruled England from Henry VII’s accession in 1485 until Elizabeth I’s death in 1603. Its five monarchs mark the period’s succession and political continuity.
Wars of the Roses: A series of conflicts between rival branches of the English royal house of Plantagenet from 1455 to 1487. The struggle for the crown created the conditions for Henry Tudor’s rise.
