Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and the Caspian Sea. Its territory includes the Karakum Desert and large natural-gas reserves.

Karakum Desert: A desert covering much of Turkmenistan and extending into neighboring parts of Central Asia. It dominates the country’s landscape and shapes settlement and transport.
Turkmen people: A Turkic-speaking people whose communities are concentrated in Turkmenistan and neighboring regions. Their shared identity and language provide a foundation for the country’s national story.
