Twenty-first Dynasty of Egypt

An ancient Egyptian dynasty conventionally dated to about 1077–943 BCE, during the Third Intermediate Period. Its kings ruled from Tanis while Theban high priests held substantial power in Upper Egypt.

Tanis: An ancient city in the Nile Delta that served as the political center of Egypt’s Twenty-first Dynasty. The dynasty’s kings ruled from this northern capital.
Twentieth Dynasty of Egypt: The last dynasty of Egypt’s New Kingdom, which ruled before the Third Intermediate Period. Its final reigns preceded the political fragmentation that shaped the Twenty-first Dynasty.
