Twenty20

Twenty20 is a limited-overs cricket format in which each team can face up to 20 six-ball overs. Its short innings encourage aggressive batting and produce matches that usually last about three hours.

Over (cricket): A set of six legal deliveries bowled by one player from one end of the pitch. Each team’s innings is limited to 20 of these six-ball sets.
Twenty20 Cup: The English domestic competition that introduced professional Twenty20 cricket in 2003. The tournament launched the format as a competitive replacement for rain-affected county fixtures.
One Day International: A limited-overs international cricket match in which each side can face up to 50 overs. Its longer innings allow more time for pacing and recovery than Twenty20.

Stuart Robertson: An English cricket administrator who proposed a short-form professional competition for county teams. His proposal led to the creation of England’s Twenty20 Cup.
Test cricket: Cricket’s longest format, played over up to five days with two innings per side. Test cricket rewards sustained strategy and endurance rather than Twenty20’s compressed contests.
Franchise cricket: Professional cricket organized around privately owned teams representing cities or regions. Twenty20’s compact schedule made franchise competitions practical in multiple countries.
