Typecasting

Typecasting is the repeated casting of an actor in roles resembling earlier or familiar performances. It can shape an actor’s public image and limit the roles offered.

Casting (performing arts): Casting is the process of selecting performers for roles in a production. Typecasting occurs when casting repeatedly favors an actor’s established image.
Career stagnation: Career stagnation is a prolonged lack of professional growth, new opportunities, or change in work. A narrow run of similar roles can make an actor’s career feel difficult to advance.
