Typesetting

Typesetting arranges text and symbols into a finished form for printing or display, using physical type or digital tools. It determines how written content occupies a page or screen.

Typography: The design and use of letterforms and text in visual communication. Typesetting applies typographic choices to arrange text in a finished composition.
Glyph: A specific visual representation of a character or symbol in a typeface. Typesetting places glyphs as visible units, while one character may have several glyph forms.
Movable type: A printing method that assembles reusable individual characters into pages for printing. Typesetting's physical form developed around arranging movable characters in a printing frame.

Leading: The vertical distance between successive lines of text. Line spacing controls the density and rhythm of a typeset text block.
