Tyranni

Tyranni is a suborder of passerine birds, commonly called suboscines. Its members generally have less specialized vocal organs than oscines, the other major passerine suborder.

Passeriformes: Passeriformes is the bird order containing perching birds, including more than half of living bird species. Tyranni is one of the two major suborders within this exceptionally diverse bird order.
Vocal learning: Vocal learning is the ability to acquire vocalizations by hearing and imitating sounds. Most suboscines develop vocalizations without the song-learning process characteristic of many oscines.
Tyrant flycatchers: Tyrant flycatchers are a large New World passerine family that captures insects, often by sallying from perches. This exceptionally diverse family is a major radiation within Tyranni.

Brain pathways for birdsong: Brain pathways for birdsong are neural circuits that control vocal production and, in some birds, vocal learning. The neural song-learning system common in oscines is reduced or absent in many suboscines.
