Uluru

Uluru is a large sandstone formation in Australia’s Northern Territory, sacred to the Anangu people and protected within Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Anangu: Anangu are Aboriginal peoples of the Western Desert region of Australia. Anangu are Uluru’s Traditional Owners and maintain enduring cultural connections to the place.
Sandstone: Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized mineral grains or rock fragments. Uluru consists mainly of arkose, a coarse-grained sandstone.
Petrology: Petrology is the branch of geology that studies rocks, their origins, composition, and structure. Petrology identifies the rock type and formation history behind Uluru’s appearance.
