University of Halle

The University of Halle is a Prussian university founded in 1694. It became an influential center of Pietism and Enlightenment scholarship.

Frederick III of Brandenburg: Frederick III was elector of Brandenburg from 1688 and became the first king in Prussia in 1701. As elector, he founded the university to strengthen Brandenburg’s institutions and prestige.
