University of Paris

The University of Paris was a medieval institution of higher learning, organized as a corporation of masters and students. It became a leading center of theology and philosophy in Europe.

Medieval university: A European institution of higher learning that developed in the Middle Ages around organized communities of masters and students. The University of Paris was one of the earliest and most influential examples of this institutional form.
