Urbanization in Iran is the historical growth of the country’s urban population and settlements, shaped by migration, economic change, state policy, and shifting settlement patterns.

Iranian Constitutional Revolution: A 1905–1911 movement that established constitutional government in Iran and challenged royal authority. Its political mobilization unfolded in major cities and helped make urban centers arenas of national change.
Demographic transition: The shift from high birth and death rates to low birth and death rates as societies change. Falling mortality and sustained population growth enlarged Iran’s urban populations.
