Utahraptor

Utahraptor is a genus of large dromaeosaurid dinosaurs known from Early Cretaceous rocks in what is now Utah. Its enlarged, curved toe claw is among its distinctive features.

Dromaeosauridae: A family of mostly small to medium-sized theropod dinosaurs, many bearing enlarged curved claws on their feet. Utahraptor belongs to this family of predatory dinosaurs.
Cedar Mountain Formation: A sequence of Early Cretaceous sedimentary rocks in Utah that preserves dinosaur fossils. Utahraptor fossils come from this formation.
Predation: An ecological interaction in which one organism captures and consumes another. Utahraptor was a carnivorous dinosaur, though its precise hunting behavior is unknown.
