Vienna State Opera

A major opera house in Vienna, opened in 1869 as the Vienna Court Opera. It is a central venue for opera and ballet, with a repertory system that presents different works throughout the season.

Ringstraße: A grand boulevard encircling central Vienna, built on the site of the city's former fortifications. The opera house was one of the monumental public buildings commissioned along this new boulevard.
