Village People
Village People is an American disco group formed in 1977, known for “Y.M.C.A.” and stage costumes representing masculine archetypes.
Jacques Morali: A French producer and songwriter who co-created Village People and helped shape its music and image. He assembled the group and developed its disco sound and character concept.
Y.M.C.A. (song): A 1978 disco song by Village People, co-written by Jacques Morali, Henri Belolo, and Victor Willis. Its chant and gesture-filled chorus became the group’s signature hit.
