Vistula

The Vistula is Poland’s longest river, flowing from the Carpathian Mountains through Kraków and Warsaw to the Baltic Sea.

Vistula River basin: The area of land drained by the Vistula and its tributaries. Its basin gathers water across much of Poland before channeling it toward the river’s mouth.
Vistula glaciation: The advance and retreat of Scandinavian ice sheets that shaped northern Poland during the Pleistocene. Glacial landforms helped determine the Vistula’s lower course and coastal outlet.
