Vitaly Ginzburg

Vitaly Ginzburg (1916–2009) was a Soviet and Russian theoretical physicist whose work on superconductivity and superfluidity reshaped condensed-matter physics. He shared the 2003 Nobel Prize in Physics with Alexei Abrikosov and Anthony Leggett.

Superconductivity: A state in which a material conducts electricity without resistance and expels magnetic fields below a critical temperature. Ginzburg’s theory explains superconducting behavior through an order parameter and its response to magnetic fields.
