Wallace Beery

Wallace Beery (1885–1949) was an American film actor known for playing rugged, often comic or sentimental characters. His roles included Long John Silver in Treasure Island and boxer Andy “Champ” Purcell in The Champ.

The Champ (1931 film): A 1931 American drama film starring Wallace Beery as a washed-up boxer raising his young son. Beery won the Academy Award for Best Actor for playing Andy “Champ” Purcell.
Marie Dressler: A Canadian-American stage and screen actress whose late-career film performances brought major success. She co-starred with Beery in Min and Bill and shared its central domestic drama.
