Wang Mang

Wang Mang was a Chinese statesman who founded the Xin dynasty and ruled as emperor from 9 to 23 CE. His ambitious reforms sought to reshape landholding, currency, and state control.

王田: Wang Mang’s land reform scheme, which designated land as royal property and restricted its sale and distribution. It aimed to curb large estates and redistribute land, but met resistance and was reversed.
