Warsaw Ghetto

A Nazi-imposed Jewish district in occupied Warsaw, sealed in 1940. Tens of thousands died from starvation, disease, deportation, and violence before its destruction in 1943.

Grossaktion Warsaw: The mass deportation of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto to Treblinka in summer 1942. This deportation removed most ghetto residents and radically changed the conditions for those left behind.
