Weevil

A weevil is a beetle in the superfamily Curculionoidea, usually recognized by an elongated snout and plant-feeding larvae. Many species bore into seeds, stems, roots, or stored food.

Curculionoidea: A superfamily of beetles that includes true weevils and several related families. This is the broader beetle group to which weevils belong.
Oviposition: The process by which a female animal deposits eggs in a suitable location. Many female weevils place eggs in plant tissue or seeds for larval development.
